We offer several tree consultation services, but we focus on planning and development in relation to trees.
We evaluate which trees might be affected during development. We provide advice on which trees to remove and which to keep. Finally, we advise on how to protect those kept.
The phases are as described below:
Initial site survey prior to the planning phase
- Survey and report with a tree constraints plan (created prior to any new design on the site). This will help identify trees to be retained based upon their condition, visual amenity and estimated life expectancy. The survey will also provide information on how the retained trees could affect design. It is guided by BS:5837:2012 Trees in relation to design, demolition and construction – recommendations.
Planning Phase:
- Planners provide feedback to create an arboricultural impact assessment (AIA). This assessment aids in the design and location of future development. It identifies impacts on trees chosen to be retained based on proposed structures.

Construction Phase
- A tree protection plan and arboricultural method statement outline procedures to follow during construction. It includes a visual plan for certain details. A draft of this would be circulated once the above two are finalized. A dialogue is to follow to make sure decisions are workable. Once an agreement is reached by all parties involved, a final version can be made.
